Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe: Chicago Fashion Week Puts 50 Shows Across the City

The Midwest is having a fashion moment. Chicago Fashion Week runs October 8–18 across venues in city neighborhoods, with 50 runway shows, pop-ups, industry seminars, shopping events, and launch parties — all open to the public.

Shows and events span museums, design spaces, shops, and galleries, covering everything from fashion history and vintage to avant-garde.

Standout events

Standouts include Marche Prive: Fashion Week Edition at Zhou B Art Center (Oct 10), the T-shirt Upcycling Workshop at Ryerson Hall (Oct 14), the Chicago Fair Trade Clothing Swap (Oct 16), the Chicago Streetwear Expo at The Expo Warehouse (Oct 17), and Flamboyant by Force at Silveroom (Oct 17).

Free, ticketed, and for everyone

The program mixes free and ticketed events — a week built for shoppers, students, designers, and the simply curious.

Eleven days, fifty shows, one very American idea: great fashion shouldn’t need a velvet rope.
